We had a wonderful experience working with Lars and his team.When searching for a realtor, My wife and I wanted to work with someone who was responsive, had significant market experience/who does a high volume of transactions annually, who would have helpful intuition on what would be needed to have a successful offer, and who would be informative and helpful as this was our first house purchase.After interviewing 4 different realtors from our network, we chose to work with Lars.When working with realtors, traditionally you envision your realtor being your one-stop shop who would take you to every showing. Rather than being one individual, Lars has a team. We didn’t do any showings with Lars personally, but rather with one of his team members Jeremy (who was great!). We would often do a showing with Jeremy, and then have a phone call with Lars afterwards if we were interested. We actually appreciated their team approach, vs only working with one individual, and the team is helpful, top notch, and professional.Lars’s experience and market intuition shown through many times. On a handful of houses we were interested in, I would often ask Lars, “how much do you think we need to offer realistically to get this house?” He would call the listing agent, get a feel for the situation, and give a gut based on comps in the neighborhood and what he was seeing in the market that month. There were many houses where Lars said “for this one you probably will have to be around a this price to get it” and then a month or two later I would look back and see how much it actually sold for, and Lars had been right on the money in both of those scenarios. This happened 2 specific times. This gave me a ton of confidence in his ability to help us navigate how serious of an offer to put on the houses based on how in love we were with them. With the house we ended up buying (which we love), Lars encouraged us to offer a certain price that was under the listing price, as he thought we could win it at that number. We ended up having our offer accepted for $10k under the listing price, and after inspection he also helped us negotiate for some additional funds to go towards our closing. We greatly appreciated his intuition and it helped us save thousands of dollars.After many showings of various houses without having interest in them, my wife and I felt tempted to feel bad that we were wasting their team’s time, however we were reassured multiple times that “we will go to as many showings as it takes for you to find the house you want, and if it takes until 12 months from now to do so, it will take 12 months and that’s ok!” We felt that they meant that truly, we never felt like they were pressuring us to be interested in a house. We felt like they were there to serve us with open hands, and we greatly appreciated that. The other thing I appreciated was Lars’ willingness to give his time and energy to us. We had multiple hour long phone calls in the evenings/weekends, and he was always available to us. He also was always willing to take the time to write and offer for us (once while he was on a weekend trip with his friends), and always did his due diligence to keep in regular contact with the listing agent of a home we were interested in to help us have the best knowledge to know what kind of offer to put.After closing, we received a few housewarming gifts from Lars and his team as a thank you for choosing to work with them, which was a nice gesture and speaks to their character. In summary, if you want an experienced, professional team, who will deliver a very positive home buying/selling experience, I would highly recommend Lars and his team.
